Larisa Avner Trainor joined CIG in April 2005 and was promoted to General Counsel in January 2010. Larisa is responsible for all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, all financing relationships, tax planning and corporate compliance. She also works on a variety corporate matters, including commercial contracts and executive compensation issues, as well as managing the corporate property and casualty insurance for all of the CIG companies.
Larisa previously worked at E*TRADE Financial Corporation in their in-house legal group and spent six years at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where she specialized in transactional and securities law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private investment funds, investment management, and corporate governance.
Larisa received her J.D., with honors, from the George Washington University Law School and her BS in Accounting from the State University of New York at Albany. She is a Certified Public
Accountant licensed in New York State and worked for three years as an auditor with a bank holding company prior to attending law school. Larisa is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Larisa and her husband Sean live in Bethesda with their three daughters Jane, Sasha, and Mischa.
